LISA LEE : THE ARTISTRY OF FEMININE STRENGTH
Lisa Lee is an Australian-based fine artist whose creative journey unfolds form her home studio situated on the picturesque Sunshine Coast In Queensland. Renowned for her emotive abstract and figurative works, Lee captures the rhythm of life through colour and movement. Her paintings, dripping with sensitivity and secrecy, hold both elegance and attitude. They are feminine without apology, bold without restraint, and grounded in a deep connection to nature, nurture and human emotion.
Her work often reflects the many embodiments of the modern woman: strong yet vulnerable, ambitious yet introspective, fierce, loving and real. Many of her collectors are bold, spirited women who see themselves in her canvases, and are often the subjects of her work. Through her art, Lisa explores and sometimes challenges the constructs of modern life or speaks softly to those yearning to break free from them. She weaves their stories into her paintings, revealing hidden truths about their journeys. These are not always for public view; sometimes they live quietly, just for the commissioner’s eye, with subtle stories painted in code, like a secret brushed on, half telling the tale.
Lisa’s signature drips of oil paint are more than technique. They are truth. They show that life is imperfect, that beauty and chaos coexist, that what runs and falls away still belongs to the whole. Her art is like a story of the muse, woven in bright colours, layered with symbols of her world, her heartbreaks, her triumphs.
Spanning her twenty - year career, Lee’s artworks have been selected for inclusion in many major Australian national art awards, exhibited worldwide including London, New York, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and feature in Australian public, private and corporate collections.

‘
Women. We are strong, beautiful and multifaceted creatures.
We all have unique stories to tell, and I love to highlight the inner resilience of women through fashion , flowers and paint. Floriography, the language of flowers, allows me to embed deeper meanings and emotions into my artwork. As a Peony speaks of compassion, a Protea declares strength and the Edelweiss voices courage. This historically clandestine method of communication through florals and botanicals adds depth to my own arts practise. By weaving symbolism, mythology and history into my art, I invite viewers to discover stories and emotions hidden within each piece. I transform decorative elements into layers of narrative enriching each piece with sentiment.
I adore florals and I also Iove a big girl-power dress , amongst my crazy- beautiful mess.

“Lisa does not simply create. She inhabits her art. She breathes it, feels it, and invites us to do the same. Her canvases are not just paintings. They are experiences that invite us to lean in, to feel deeply, and to celebrate the wild, emotional, extraordinary mess and magic of being human.”
“Lisa Lee is an artist who has continued to grow and develop a nationally significant practice. A consummate professional in everything she does, Lisa continually challenges herself both in her artwork and with her choice of subject matter. A true ‘artiste’ in every way – from the attention she pays to the detail in her work, to the way she engages so well with other galleries, curators and our clients. It is a pleasure to work with such a talented artist – I’m always excited to see what Lisa will produce next! ”
